Leigh became involved in Babe Ruth in 1998 as a parent and spectator. In 2002 she became the league secretary in Wayne County and still serves in that capacity. In 2007 she stepped into the District Commissioner's position.
District 3 contains the following counties: Wayne, Greene, Duplin, Sampson, Lenoir, Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson and Johnston.
